Illustration Friday: Tension

Children Illustration: Hansel and Gretel
Here is my entry for Illustration Friday this week. The topic is 'Tension'. This is my version of Hansel and Gretel. "Hansel and Gretel" a well-known fairy tale of German origin was first published in 1812. Hansel and Gretel are a young brother and sister threatened by a witch living deep in the forest in a house made of cake and candy. I thought picture of these two kids, left alone in a jungle goes well with this week's topic.

My version of 'Hansel and Gretel...:-)

Children's Illustration: Classroom

Children's Illustration: Classroom
This is a sketch I drew this morning. Enjoyed a well deserved 45 minutes drawing time while having
caffe-latte at the Waterstones bookstore surrounded by children books and of course babies and children. Apparently their cafe is next to the children book section which is a great place to sit and draw children illustration.

I designed this invite recently for four very beautiful 4 year old pirates. I enjoy creating little characters using cute photos and making them do what I want to do. I have done a couple more for family and friends in the past. I will post them here later...

Tigerprint: Children's Vehicle Character Design Competion

By Noopur Thakur

"Plains, trains and automobiles! I like that this design moves from a happy smiling boat up through the scene to a plane in the sky, the vehicles are the staring characters. The composition with the road leading up the hill works well however the perspective does not always work."

Last summer I participated in Children's Vehicle Character Design Competion by Tigerprinta design company, who design greeting cards and stationary for Marks and Spencer. I was so happy and excited to find that they chose me as a runner up but some how missed sharing it here on my blog.  Here you can see other winners of this competition.

Out in Space

A new addition to my children illustration portfolio.  A cute little astronaut set out on a journey to see the planets, stars and make friends with a funny alien.
