Colouring Page-Dussehra Festival

I designed this colouring page for my son. Its about a religious festival celebrated all over India called Dussehra. Its a celebration of victory of good over evil. On this day huge effigies of Ravana are placed in vast open grounds with fireworks and crackers placed inside them. A person dressed as Rama shoots a flaming arrow at him. This is followed by a colorful fair.

Illustration Friday: Boundaries

My entry for illustration Friday : Boundary is inspired by a famous tale of indian mythology, Ramayana.  Godess Sita was deceived by evil Ravana to cross the boundary. As soon as Sita crossed the line, Ravana abducted her to his kingdom in Lanka.

They draw and cook entry

Finally I finished my first illustrated recipe for the wonderful They Draw and Cook. This recipe is my family's favorite breakfast or anytime snack. Throw some grated cheese on it with a little bit of tomato ketchup. Roll it like tortilla wraps and you have a yummy on-the-go snack.
Enjoy the recipe and if you make it, please let me know how it goes!

Thanks again to Nate & Salli for creating such a great site for us creatives to be inspired. Please go over to the site and check out all the Beautifully illustrated recipes.

Egg Free Birthday Cake!

My son is going to be three in July and I am already thinking about which cake to bake this time. Having an egg allergic birthday boy leaves me with a limited choice, so lets see what I come up with this time. I'm posting here the recipe of egg free chocolate cake that I have used on his first and second birthday. The results have been great both the times.
3 cups flour
2/3 cups cocoa powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 cups sugar
1 cup melted butter
2 cups cold milk
4 tsp. vanilla extract
4 tsp. vinegar
Preheat oven to 375°F.Spray a baking pan with vegetable spray.
Combine dry ingredients directly in the pan. Mix all the wet ingredients
In a small bowl, combine remaining ingredients leaving out the vinegar until the final step.
Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring together in pan until well combined. Stir in the vinegar rapidly and immediately place pan into preheated oven and bake for 30-40 minutes.

Resolutions for Illustration Friday

This is my entry for Illustration Friday. The topic is Resolutions. I have shown the most common ones here, like loosing weight, exercise, drink more water, eat more fruits and veggies and of course quit smoking.  I personally don't believe in new year resolutions but secretly always think of loosing weight in the beginning of almost every year...;)

New Year, new beginning!

I’ve been wanting to have a blog for quite some time now, and I’ve finally done it! I hope this will motivate me to be more creative and make lots of new artwork everyday!
